How we make your will
•Once you ask us to prepare your will we will send you a pre meeting questionnaire. This is to get you to think about the issues involved and for you to get names and addresses ready etc. You can see our pre meeting questionnaire on the Downloads page.
•Our first meeting will be to ensure we get all the facts and to be careful that you have not overlooked any aspect of your will planning. This is where online and shop bought wills fall down - they do not offer a face to face meeting that can more easily ensure you cover everything in the right way.
•We will then prepare a draft will and make sure this meets with your approval. If not, or if we need to add anything else we can arrange for a new draft Will until you are happy everything is covered.
•We will then make sure your will is signed and witnessed correctly. This is a vital stage as wills are not considered legitimate if this stage is not carried out correctly, and as part of our professional indemnity cover requirements, we must oversee the whole process from start to finish. So many firms skip this stage and just send you the Wills in the post!
•If you need to make amendments to your Will in the future, this can be arranged at low cost. Fees will be less than a completely new will (although we often draft a new Will as we will have a copy of the original).
•We provide free ongoing help and advice to all our clients. This can reassure you that your Will does, or does not need to be amended, for example.
