Probate services
Most will writers do not usually offer probate help, but this is a central service we offer to all our existing and new clients. You do not need to have a Will with us for us to help you.
We offer a very straightforward fixed price, based on the work involved. We usually help you by taking power of attorney to act as the representative/administrator of the executor, and this way we take on all the work involved, and can deal with all companies etc. directly. Where only the grant of probate, or letters of administration is required, we work in-house with a firm of solicitors to offer this specific service, as extracting a grant is a regulated activity limited to solicitors, accountants or probate lawyers.
Grant only:£1,200 plus disbursements (i.e. any third part costs like the grant application fee). If the more involved probate route is required, where IHT 400 forms are required, then the cost is £1,800 plus disbursements.
Full estate administration. Most fixed fees start at £3,600, but may be lower, or higher, depending on the work required. We do NOT charge hourly fees on top, where a fixed fee is given, and so we are incredibly competitive compared to most probate providers.
Ad-hoc advice. We can provide ad-hoc hourly advice for general probate work and help at £240 per hour. Depending on the nature of the work involved, this may be via Oliver's Wills Ltd or our solicitor partner firm where I work in-house.
