Inheritance tax. For the 2022/2023 tax year, the inheritance tax allowance is £325,000 plus £175,000 if you give property you have lived in to your children or grandchildren - and this includes step-children - (we can advise further on this new allowance).

Trusts. Trusts are a popular way to protect your property and other assets for your beneficiaries. This might be against future marriage issues, care home fees or if you have a beneficiary receiving benefits for example.

Probate. We can help you get probate and distribute the estate. You may feel out of your depth with the paperwork required, or have issues you don't want to deal with. Our fees can be a fraction of a that charged by a high street solicitor. Click here for probate pricing.

Because we are a small company working for ourselves, we can spend time with you to understand what you need and want. Especially with older clients, things can be complicated, so we are in no rush to end the meeting if you need more time.
  • We are great value - we are not the cheapest - and we do not aim to beat everyone on price. However we think we beat most other firms on the quality of our service, and we price ourselves to beat most solicitors and the majority of other willwriting firms. 
  • We offer lots of free advice - for example we are happy to provide your family with free advice is they need help with probate forms for example, or we can find other ways to says inheritance tax.
*Please note that the cost advertised is for a basic will, which tends to cover most peoples circumstances. Wills that include specialist trusts will be charged more due to the more complex nature of these wills and the fact that we create trusts to match each client's individual circumstances. Trusts may also be recommended for inheritance tax planning, but all clients will be made aware of extra costs before any work is carried out. We do not charge anything until your will is legally valid - i.e. after signing.

It always pays to look at all the small print on a website. If you take a will through us and mention you read all the small print, we will divert £5 of our fees to a local charity in your area - please tell us which one. We take our fee minus £5 and a £5 cheque payable to that charity. Just mention local charity when paying.
